Message from our Founder Anthony Petrella:
MIKEYP was created in honour of my brother, Michael, who passed away from leukemia in 2019. Building this company is my way of carrying forward his spirit, kindness, and courage.
During his battle, he participated in one of the first clinical trial procedures for leukemia patients — knowing it might not work for him, but hoping someone else could benefit. That selflessness is what drives MIKEYP.
Shortly after, I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, which made me pay more attention to what goes into our bodies, especially seeing how many people around me were living with chronic illnesses. I wanted a drink that’s clean, honest, and thoughtful — and that’s how MIKEYP was born.
Every can carries Michael’s spirit forward, and anyone who drinks it feels a part of that too

Our journey began with extensive research and development, bringing together a team of experts in nutrition, flavor profiling, and beverage science. Countless hours were spent in the lab, meticulously selecting the finest natural ingredients to create a formula that not only hydrates efficiently but also delights the taste buds.
Ingredients and Quality
Each MIKEYP can is crafted with high-quality ingredients, natural flavours, and natural coloring — no artificial taste or synthetic dyes. Sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate are used to help control pH and act as preservatives, keeping the beverage fresh and stable. These ingredients are used in very small amounts, far below limits approved by Health Canada and the FDA, to maintain nutrient stability without affecting taste.
Unlike high-heat pasteurization, MIKEYP’s method keeps delicate nutrients intact. These small preservative amounts ensure each can is safe, stable, and refreshing from production to opening.
