Welcome to MIKEYP
MIKEYP was created by Anthony Petrella in honour of his brother, Michael Petrella, who passed away from leukemia on March 19th, 2019. “MIKEYP” was Michael’s nickname, and building this company became Anthony’s way of carrying forward his brother’s spirit, kindness, and strength.
During his battle with leukemia, Michael remained focused on helping others. He took part in one of the first CAR-T cell therapy trials, fully aware it might not save him, but hoping it could help someone else in the future. That selflessness, that courage, became the heart of MIKEYP. Michael’s legacy continues to guide every decision the company makes — from using clean ingredients and transparent packaging to supporting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada each year.
Shortly before Michael passed, Anthony was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. This pushed him to look more closely at the impact of what we put into our bodies. Having played sports while growing up, he understood the importance of hydration not just for performance, but for everyday wellbeing. Yet he noticed that many drinks on the market were filled with unnecessary sugars, dyes, and artificial flavours. This realization marked the beginning of the idea that would eventually become MIKEYP — a cleaner, more thoughtful approach to hydration.
MIKEYP stands for purpose, integrity, and better choices. What began as Anthony’s personal mission has grown into something far larger: a way to honour Michael’s spirit while offering people a more mindful way to hydrate.
Every can of MIKEYP carries that spirit forward — and the hope is that anyone who takes a sip feels a part of it too.

Our journey began with extensive research and development, bringing together a team of experts in nutrition, flavor profiling, and beverage science. Countless hours were spent in the lab, meticulously selecting the finest natural ingredients to create a formula that not only hydrates efficiently but also delights the taste buds.
Ingredients and Quality
Each MIKEYP can is crafted with high-quality ingredients, natural flavours, and natural coloring — no artificial taste or synthetic dyes. Sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate are used to help control pH and act as preservatives, keeping the beverage fresh and stable. These ingredients are used in very small amounts, far below limits approved by Health Canada and the FDA, to maintain nutrient stability without affecting taste.
Unlike high-heat pasteurization, MIKEYP’s method keeps delicate nutrients intact. These small preservative amounts ensure each can is safe, stable, and refreshing from production to opening.
