PET Packaging

MIKEYP cans are made from PET plastic. PET is a 100% recyclable material that is widely accepted by recycling systems and used across many industries.

When properly recycled, PET can be processed and transformed into new materials. These recycled materials are commonly used to manufacture products such as clothing, textiles, furniture, tools, toys, packaging, and other consumer and industrial goods.

One Can, Multiple Uses

When recycled, the material from one MIKEYP PET can contributes to the creation of multiple new products. Recycled PET is typically blended with other recycled materials, meaning a single can helps form parts of many products rather than becoming one finished item.

Production Waste & Unused Cans

During production and handling, some cans cannot be sold due to damage, printing errors, or quality control standards. These cans are unused and safe, but do not meet our requirements for distribution.

Rather than disposing of this material, MIKEYP donates these cans to high schools, colleges, and universities involved in innovation and applied learning programs. The cans are stripped and processed, and the PET material is then converted into 3D printing filament.

This filament is used for new innovations, educational projects, prototyping, and creative work, allowing the material to remain in use instead of becoming waste.

1 MIKEYP can is converted into approximately 8 meters of 3D printing filament, enabling the creation of 8–10 small or 3–5 slightly larger student projects.

Student Projects, Partnerships & Future Initiatives

As this initiative grows, MIKEYP plans to expand participation through additional partnerships and project-based opportunities. Future efforts may include sponsoring student-led events, challenges, or workshops where participants are invited to create designs using recycled PET derived from MIKEYP cans.
